In 1985, he was accepted to Iran University of Medical Sciences to study medicine. After graduating in 1992 as a general practitioner, he first worked in the villages of the mountainous areas of Firoozkooh and then Dastjerd in Khalajistan, and then in various cities of Sistan-va-Baluchestan province, including Chabahar, Zabol and Zahedan. During his tenure, he served in various positions as a medical doctor of rural and urban health centers, the Physician in Charge of the Coordinating Center of TB Control and the director in charge of the Center for Disease Management and Control at provincial level. Due to his service in the malaria-prone areas of Iran, he participated in 2nd International Course on Malaria and Planning its Control in Bandar-Abbas and received a diploma. In 1998, he first accepted and studied in the MPH course and then the PhD course in the field of epidemiology of the Institute of Health Research, School of Public Health, Tehran University of Medical Sciences. After graduating and obtaining a PhD in epidemiology, he began his carrier as lecturer in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences. He teaches epidemiology and related courses, including principles of epidemiology, advanced epidemiology topics, epidemiology of infectious and non-communicable diseases and methodology of research in health sciences. He has directed various national and regional projects in the field of epidemiology of infectious diseases. Dr Izadi is a member of the Board of Examinations and Evaluation of Epidemiology at the Ministry level. Dr Izadi transferred from Zahedan to the Faculty of Health of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in mid-January 2020, and is currently teaching as a professor of epidemiology in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Dr. Izadi's field of research has been mainly related to infectious diseases and more recently to vaccines and vaccination coverage.
