Research aimed at better understanding of cognitive and communication processes related to assessing food intake. Development of improved approaches to identifying and minimizing bias and other sources of error in dietary assessment measurements, Evaluation and improvement of methods for estimating portion sizes, Development of more rapid and cost- effective methods for collecting and analyzing food intake data, Development, updating and expansion of food composition databases, Development and evaluation of instruments for measuring dietary data and Identification and evaluation of the use of biochemical, anthropometric, and functional measurements for validation and interpretation of dietary assessments.
